No 3 - I Spy Wildlife in the garden

How did you guess, JJB?
I am somewhat vertically challenged.

You should have been here 10 yrs ago when son was at home, I'm  5'5", but living with P at 6'3" and son at 6'5"+, I was made to believe I was short!  I could fit  both my feet in his size 14/15 boots.

I'm confused , not sure if its N or O ...

So I spy Newts in our pond and Odonata flying above (both when it was warmer through )

Had to google Odonata - that's my something new I've learnt today. Thanks Mamzie.

Barn and tawney owls here,

and orange tipped butterflies in the spring.

I spy pigeons they're everywhere

I spy pheasants. Lots of them about at the moment.

Pigeons - far too many
Pheasants - only one male the other day, used to have dozens when they were bred for shooting nearby, they would escape to our garden for safety I think, but then again that implies intelligence.
Partridges - not at the moment but the red legged ones have visited this year

I SPY Pests on Plants
and Pigeons (Wood) Panicking Pursued by Puppies.

I spy some lovely wood pigeons and our pets enjoying the garden

Nearly spied a peregrine but it was flying too fast.
Also a peewit, used to have them nesting for years but farmer changing to maize from winter wheat saw them off.
The pied wagtails are still about though and there are pigs at the farm we get eggs from.
Some geese flew over which could well have been pink footed from the noise they made.
and plenty of bats, some must be pipistrelles.
Then there are the pigeons.
