I'm still not convinced that you've picked sloes. The colour and the way thy're attached to the branches just doesn't look right. Can't see any massive thorns either.

Sorry the second photo is the one I think is a Guelder Rose as for the first doubt if it's a Blackthorn a when I have picked sloe berries the thorns were lethal

TBH Veggie I thought I'd ask before wasting some gin, didn't think about poisoning myself until you and Spec mentioned it!!
I'm still 50/50 as to whether it's a sloe or not, I'll try and get some better pictures when I go for my stomp tomorrow
