After a 4.5 hou drive Kato and I have finished up in Dumbar where we will spend the night in the motorhome with a lovely sea view. I initially planned to go to a place in Berwick but someone had locked the gate to the area I had planned. Next possibility was Dunbar Harbour, but there were no parking spaces left when we got there!!! Never mind, the cliff top views where we are at have made up for the earlier dissapointments! Smile

So far dug up a few potatoes. 3x 25' rows to go. I want to get them all up if possible while the soil is bone dry. Also some still have a bit of life in them and any rain could cause them to split.

Decided to clear a bit of the garden behind GH1 for vegetable growing. Its mostly raspberries, perennial geraniums, yellow loosestrife and the bain of my life, Montbretia. I actually pulled the montbretia out earlier this year (or so I thought) but its grown back! I'll dig the raspberries up later this year and move them to another spot. No sign of them flowering/fruiting so, they may not be worth moving. They look very healthy though. Decisions, decisions!
I also planted 2 courgette seedlings in big pots. Still haven't picked a courgette this year - although I do have a big Tromba. (Please keep any comments to yourselves Smile)

Yesterday there was a plant sale (as part of a local primary school summer fate). So me and the neighbour went. Bumped into lots of other members of the village. And spent 5 minutes looking at plants (working out what they were due to lack of labels and knowledge on everyone’s part ). I helped my friend carry all her plants home. There was nothing I wanted. I either have it already or it’s not not going anywhere near my garden.

^^^ That's the things about local plant sales - they're usually full of stuff that the donor doesn't want in their garden, spreads easily and wants to get rid of - like montbretia, spiky grass, periwinkle.Big Grin

Travelled to the coast this morning and had a 'not too long a walk' on a coastal path. I have to remember that Kato is old and has a fur coat on, so kept walk to a reasonable distance, even though he wanted to walk further!
Visiting a paid campsite later today which charges £10, which I can live with? Looking fowad to a nice shower, even though thee is one in the motorhome which I don't like using!
This site doesn't mind you having a fire (they even sell bags of logs) so I can try out my newly purchased metal fire bowl which I haven't used yet. Looking forward to sitting aound a camp fire this evening! Cool
