I've been to work so not much play, but I went out chanterelle picking this morning. I found enough for a meal, which is encouraging! We have some ancient forests behind our land, you know the kind with tall trees and thick moss underneath.

I also had a look at my mock orange cuttings that I took a while ago, and they seem to be doing well, and most of them have roots on them! I'll be taking more cuttings at the weekend Smile

My next door neighbour is getting a new wooden fence on the other side of his garden and as I have taken wood off him before, asked me whethr I wanted the old fence to chop up and burn in woodburner?
Of course I said yes and asked if te contractor would just throw it over the hedge on my side? This he did, butthrew it over in six foot sectionsincluding old pots. I have been on all morningbreaking it up into a pile of planks, keeping the posts seperate.I have got entangled in the fence a couple of times and have skinnd both knees, shins, elbow and arm. It looks like I had wrestled an alligator.
Anywy, I hav eventually soted it in to neat piles ready to attac kit wih the chainsaw.............once my wounds heal! Big Grin

Cleared all the cucumber plants out of GH 1 & 2. They were suffering badly with whitefly and ?red spider mite and were struggling to produce any fruit - or so I thought! When I pulled the plants out of their pots, I found 2 cucumber, one is huge - hiding.
Moved the pots of compost out of the GH as those whitefly were really bugging me!
Pulled a large thyme plant out of a terracotta pot, which was disintegrating and leaving sharp shards around. Replanted the thyme and binned the old pot. .
Filled a long windowsill type planter with old compost and sowed it with Oakleaf lettuce seeds.
