Potted up some squash seedlings - patty pan and round courgettes from the mixed seed pack.
Fed the worms and compost bin with grass cuttings and mulched the mangetout and potatoes with grass too.
Big job of the day was taking Bess and Spud to have their fur clipped. When they were ready for collection I took Ted along to have his claws cut. Before you ask, Ted's fur is a lot less woolly & curly than the others so he doesn't need the clippers. I cut his fur with scissors - he loves it and goes to sleep while its being done!

Only a bit of watering today but had a nasty remember that I've forgotten to sow my parsnips as we were eating parsnips and roast potatoes this evening so first job tomorrow.

After work. I transplanted some quaking grass that had escaped around the garden. And planted out some Vulcan grass.

Sowed flowers and beans.
Planted out 2 cucurbits - they're either courgettes or cucumbers. Time will tell!
Shuffled seed trays around in the GH to make room for the latest sowings.

Strimmed the cottage garden. Put wire mesh under the tunnel door. Hopefully this will stop mice getting in quite so easily. Potted on some coriander. Planted out some coriander, giant chives and mammoth dill. Ripped out all but one of my broccoli brocolette . As they were only 4” tall and bolting. Replaced with more purple sprouting broccoli.

Potted on a little hawthorn I found in my tub of dead things to be shredded. Sown seeds. A bit of weeding and watering. Had a tidy up around the outside and inside the house. He who is incapable of putting anything away has been here .
Painted the underside of the pallet that I did the top of a couple of weeks ago.

Sowed cucumbers. Potted up courgettes.
Scattered some well rotted woodchip around some strawberries - for no particular reason except I wanted to empty the tub containing the woodchip and the strawberries were nearby. Added the less rotted woodchip to the hotbin with some more grass cuttings.

Went fishing, eventually caught a trout which I deemed too small to keep so put it back. Half an hour later I latched into a monster (this will keep me going a few days I thought as I was playing it) then it snapped me off! I was using 8lb line so it was round about that size! I was gutted as it took my two best flies with it! So NO fish supper tonight!
