Black Russian is listed as an early beefsteak yet mine are usually late? Huh

I have sown a bit earlier this year so maybe I will see it live up to its reputation. Shy
I don't think there are any truly early black beefsteaks. Most are mid to late season.

Black Russian is F1. (25 seeds £2.99)
Honeycomb is NOT F1 (15 seeds £3.99)
Mountain magic is NOT F1 (6 seeds £3.99)

All different to SC's list. It really bugs me how the companies can't be consistent over what is/isn't an F1 seed.

I think I would trust SC on these 3 rather than Marshalls, they even describe Black Russian as a heritage tomato and 65p a seed for Mountain Magic suggests F1.

I suppose the only proof of the pudding is if I grow Black Russian again from this years saved seed and it performs the same? Huh

I am sure that in the past I have grown Black Russian from my own saved seed and it has come true. Smile

Shirley tomatoes are some times listed as F1's but I have deffo grown them from saved seed without any loss of vigour or taste. Dodgy
