Greenhouse de-cluttering, wormery feeding and worm picking - moving some to another bin. Filling modules for seed sowing this evening. Raking weed piles, weeding Strip 2. Emptying trough of water into pond to entice the frogs. Gathering fallen branches and snapping them up onto paths. Dodging rain and hailstorm. Collecting abandoned tools and returning them to the shed.

In the continuing vein of decluttering, as tomorrow is shopping day and the dump and charity shops are on the way, I cleared out the bottom of my second wardrobe. Any shoes or stuff not used for the last two years is being recycled tomorrow.

Sowed cucumber and courgette seeds. Also Agastache as its Herbsday today.
Created a new random potato patch and planted 4 x 6' rows of sprouting spuds from the kitchen. Before anyone criticises me for planting in rows - they weren't straight, nor were they all the same length. There - satisfied now?

Sown beetroot. Dug out the turf from the raised bed, put weed fabric under the edge of the bed. That was a challenge. The frame was heavy, had to put it up on blocks. So I could get my hands underneath. Started filling bed. Did a bit of rock picking. Continuing to fill ditches.

Today I pricked out the nigella seedling I got yesterday. I planted the new apple tree. Weed around the base of the other fruit trees and gave them a manure top dressing/ mulch. Turned a 5kg coir compost block into usable compost. A bit more stone picking. A couple more barrow loads of topsoil/ manure mix into the new bed. Bob helped me put lots of bits on the outside of my shed. That’s another box of stuff emptied.
