AFAIK all podded beans are edible. If they're still soft and squeezable I think of them as a fresh bean and cook them however I would have done if they still had their pods on.
Once they've dried and hardened, I'd soak them first.
Old broad beans have a tough skin but, inside them, is a succulent green bean so you need to squeeze them out once soaked.
