Are you thinking of beekeeping?
We used to - many moons ago.

It’s something I’m thinking about . After we’ve got a new garden with lots of flowers in place   .

Any advice would be very welcome.

The best advice is to shadow a beekeeper - watch what they do, get used to handling the bees, sometimes people freak out when surrounded by 40,000 bees!
We joined the local Beekeepers Association and they took us under their wings, literally. We were given a hive and we helped to catch a swarm which became our starter colony. The hives lived in the garden, and we processed the honey in the kitchen. I still have jars of honey in the garage - and my bee suit and smoker. You never know when you'll need it!
