I have no idea whether rotation helps but have always shuffled stuff around.
I've 2 big patches each get divided into two. Each section has a different crop each year. A) Kale/broccoli/carrots (all netted), B) DFB/CFB/peas, C) onions, D) beetroot/chard (also netted against leaf miner). Corn and courgettes and any leftovers or experiments go in the centre areas.
The gh's always have toms grown in the borders. Every so often I replace the soil to refresh it.
