2026 - What's made you Happy today

Late last week, so not today, but the council planted some trees on our road at last. The rowan that had been there had to be cut down a few years ago because it was leaning quite heavily. I thought they were going to replant immediately, but they paved it over instead. We now have a Amelanchier/shadbush/shadwood/shadblow/serviceberry/sarvisberry/juneberry/saskatoon/sugarplum/wild-plum/chuckley pear on the pavement outside.

At first glance I thought "That's a lot of trees" - then I realised they're alternative names for  an Amelanchier.  Nice choice - you may get some fruit as a bonus.

Snowy mespilus is another one of it's many names I came upon on a quick search!
