The build

I had a local kitchen company draw up a plan which I didn't like at all. They give you something that ticks all their boxes but isn't always functional, IMO. so I changed it! They wanted to put wall cupboards everywhere (obviously costs more!) but I hate cupboards over worktops. They cast shadows. make the room seem smaller and are difficult to reach into when you're a little dwt.
I did "design" a movable double cupboard, on wheels, that has doors that open on both sides. I can move it around the kitchen when I feel like a change of layout, or use it as an island unit. The kitchen fitters thought it was a great idea and said they'd add it to their portfolio.
