Since then we have to sort our recycling into different bags - one for "Tin and hard plastic", another for "Paper", another for "Glass" and the same old "Food waste" bin. These are collected every week.
Food waste in a a bin. Both these are collected weekly. Never use my food waste bin.
Garden waste collected fortnightly in summer.
General waste collected fortnightly and is incinerated providing energy for summat - can't remember what! No landfill here.
Fortnightly, there are collections of Garden waste or General Waste.
General waste is incinerated and the heat generated is used in a district heating system that supplies some municipal buildings and apartment blocks nearby.
Food waste is incinerated at the local sewerage plant where is powers the plant.
Garden waste is composted for the city parks and allotments. Its not sold to residents.
