Our gut is similar to carnvores. Most people think we are omnivores because we can eat a varied diet. For millions of years we were hypercarnivores eating 70% meat.We only ate other stuff when meat wasn't available.Meat has everything we require to survive.Certain vitamins required for health can only be found in meat or fish (B12 for instance)
Farmed meat is still better than meat alternatives like Beyond Meat which is a highly processed food.
Fair enough, we can survive on vegetables only (with added vitamins) or meat/fish and veg, or meat only, it's up to the individual what they choose to do. I may as well mention scurvy, before someone else does? and why don't we have fangs and claws if we are hypercarnivores?? We get enough vitamin C on a meat/fat only diet without carbs. We also don't need fangs and claws as once we learned to cook meat our brains enlarged and we started using tools instead of the need for fangs and claws. Once we learned to cook meat it became less chewy and we didn't need to tear our way through a carcasss.
