I buy mackeral to fillet, cut into chunks and add salt to use as fishing bait. It keeps for ages once salted and stays on the hook better than fresh.
I have had grilled mackeral fillets that I have caught myself which were very tasty so maybe I should start eating it again for it's omega 3 content?
Vinny I buy mackerel fillets, either fresh or frozen ones are handy to have in the freezer, after roasting the veg until it looks done I put the fillets skin side up on top of the veg and bake for another 10 minutes at 180c.
A couple of recopies I've used.
