Tipped out a carrier bag of onions I had brought from allotment onto my decking. Soted out the smallest ones which I would make pickled onions with.
Topped/tailed and peeled onions until I had enough fo my storage jar. Tipped them back out of jar ito a sieve and rinsed. I decided to just use what I aleady had in the house. I put peppecorms, sugar, salt and deied bay leaves into bottom of jar with a little vinegar and mixed it all up until sugar and salt had dissolved.
Added onions, aded vinegar, clamped lid on and gave it a good shake!
No idea what they will be like, but I will pobably leave a fortnight to infuse befoe tying them? I have alwways used malt vinegar in the past, so we shall see?
