Spud and Ted and their Mum, Bess

This is a really hard post to write and I've waited a month before I could put it into words .
During the heatwave, all 3 dogs had to been admitted to the Emergency Vets. It wasn't heat stroke but possibly something they had eaten or drunk. The Vets asked whether they could have eaten compost or something rotting, or had drunk from a stagnant pond. Neither of these things as far as I know. Its unlikely that all 3 dogs would have eaten the same thing but they might have drunk from some of the trays of water that are lying around the garden for the birds/wildlife. We'll probably never know the cause.
Sadly, Bessie didn't survive the day and Spud hung on for a week before we did the kindest thing and let him go. Ted slowly recovered, although last week he had a relapse and I was really worried about him. He's a little trouper though and seems to be OK now.

I don't want sympathy posts as it upsets me just thinking about it. Just thought you should know that when I mention "The Dog" now, its Ted. xx
