I've planted out the hollyhocks, and may try sowing some more direct. They'll look great at the back of the bed.
I've also direct sown sweetcorn, an F1 variety I found, it might do nothing. In between the tomatoes and the perennial broccoli, I've direct sown radishes - a whole packet. I have hundreds!
I'm also taking a huge chance on aubergines out in the veg bed. I know they love the heat, and it's not quite warm enough here yet, but it's in a sheltered position, and near the pond, so I hope they'll at least survive. I've never ever had an actual fruit from an aubergine plant though, so I'm not expecting much!
I'm feeling a bit better today, but the rain is threatening, so I'm taking a break, whilst applying for a high-end job. My current job is very physical, and short, but many shifts, which isn't working out very economical with the price of fuel and living half an hour away from work. I'm still a bit torn whether I want a more strategic job, nor if they'll allow part time work, but I won't know if I don't apply!
