A good offer but still eye-watering. I think I'll talk myself out of it on the grounds I don't really need it. Tempting though.

I wouldn't have bought at full price, but I was looking at making my own version anyway and 4 x 36L black boxes with lids, strong enough to rest at least 2 x 10L pots plus the weight of the tomato plants on top, would've cost me £40+. The lids on the cheap IKEA ones I use for Kratky hydroponics are way too flimsy to have anything heavy on top, so I would need to buy plywood or OSB to act as lids instead. I would've also had to buy capillary matting/wicking rope.

I don't think many of my grafted tomatoes are going to survive, and I don't want another year of disappointment growing non-grafted varieties in the greenhouse soil, so it was worth it for my situation. Also, the rootstock seed would cost £10+ per year, and grafting involves a lot of time and effort (for me, anyway ). 

We bought an 8 pot system as a birthday present for my auntie last year, and it's a well made product which should last a long time. The only consumables are the fertiliser and the capillary matting, which I can buy relatively cheaply from elsewhere.
