Premier Seeds/Charles Dowding

Noticed the prices at Premier Seeds have been creeping up since they changed ownership in 2023. Some of it will be due to inflation etc. of course, but some of those packets would have cost 99p a few years ago and are now £1.29.

Agreed. They used to be my go to seed supplier. Now I shop around since they were bought out.

They're still good for hybrid tomato seeds, and they seem to have increased the range of hybrids across other vegetable types too. It's where I'll be getting most of my seed for my sale tomato plants since other seed shops charge so much for hybrid seeds. They've gutted their sweet pepper range though, presumably they weren't selling well. They sold garlic and onion sets under the previous ownership, but now they're selling seed potatoes which I don't recall them doing before, so I expect they are trying to morph into a standard online seed shop, and I imagine seed prices will continue to go up. 

I think I get most of my seeds from DT Brown/Mr F sales these days, with the occasional harder to find varieties from other shops. Hopefully the private equity vultures keep the £1 sales going.
