I wasn't going to bore you all with car talk but if you really want to know.  The choice of car was rather limited, we only have a certain length in the garage so that culled out quite a few makes and models. We wanted a hybrid, a full electric wasn't worth all the faff of installing leccy point at home. A big a boot as possible with leg and head room for his lanky self, a reversing camera too and comfortable enough to sui my driving position.  The garage looking after the submarine and myriad other cars in the past has been incredibly good to us over many years and we've known the now manager since he was a lad starting out. That had a bearing on our choice, it seemed a good idea to stay with that garage. We booked a test drive of a MG ZS Hybrid+ yesterday. The submarine has had an intermittent reverse selection gear problem so whilst we were test driving they had a look at subby.  Sad she's terminal, not a result of water damage but just old age. We've been advised to just run her into the gound and hope she lasts until the new one is here in March.

Going from a manual 2007 Citroen Xsara Picasso which is extremely basic to an all singing, all dancing modern automatic vehicle was rather dauntinting, it felt like getting into a space ship with all the lights, buttons, bells and whistles but I soon got used to it. The 360° camera was a treat.  But having said that, the subby has a couple of  things that the new one doesn't.  You can't have everything.

So we've bought an MG ZS Hybid+ in Battersea blue, she's likely to be called Bluebell, but that's to be confirmed (she might be called Batty - slightly more appropriate)

So there you have it..... you did ask. Rolleyes
