Made more inroads into the vinca patch - its at least 10' wide from the fence to the path and I've no idea how long it is. So much wasted ground. I've found 3 fruit bushes ?gooseberry in there so far. Lots of raspberry canes too.

Vinca , also called peri winkle ? Good to see your supervisors have been keeping an eye on you   .

Yes, Vinca/periwinkle. 
Periwinkle sounds cute - but Vinca is a thug so its Vinca to me.
