		Very ingenious Veggy!
I am reminded of showleek growers whose leeks were later auctioned after show. Apparently ,and I may be wrong, a hot knitting needle was pushed up from the bottom before auction to stop anyone from growing the plant on and  getting precious seed pips, pods or 'grass' from a winning strain? Don't know whether it would work or not though?
