2024 - What I sowed today

Salad leaves lettuce and Alstroemeria Ligtu Hybrids

Have you grown Alstroemeria from seed before? I didthwred on buying seeds but bought roots instead.Would love to know how you get on

Yes I have, many years ago. I remember following the stratification instructions on the packet and being amazed when I actually got good germination. I ended up with a nice big clump of plants that I left behind when I moved house.

So having sown a pot now, they will sit on the windowsill for 3 weeks then go into the fridge for another couple of weeks. I'll report back mid-March

 I sowed mine in pots last autumn. Just left them outside. Hopefully nature has done the stratification for me. I’ll also report back if / when I get germination.
