Well after dissecting the engine today. It’s beyond repair.
Anyone got a 16hp engine with horizontal 1” shaft, hidden away have you?

As for the arm it’s absolutely fine. Just a funny colour and a little tender to touch. As for the ratchet handle that coursed the bruise. The issues have been identified as I’m vertically challenged and need a step.
Because I was having to reach beyond what was comfortable. It turns out if you push to hard in a certain direction the brake can jam on the shoulder of the adjustment unit and not lock into place. Then everything gets a bit ouie a bit quickly. Also now we know it’s a potential issue we can be more ready for it. Because obviously it’s never happened before and it had to happen to me .
