I didn't follow a recipe last night. I browned off a small pack of low fat beef mince, chucked in onion, peppers, a load of courgette (marrow), a packet of mediterranean spices (originally intended for chicken in a bag, but fajita spice pouches work really well too). Chuck in a cup or two of uncooked rice, with twice the amount of water, bring to the boil, turn down to a simmer and 15 minutes later you have made dirty rice
No, it's not as saucy as risotto, as you don't stir it while it's cooking. It's more like rice with lots of other stuff mixed in. The rice is more defined. Well, either way, I highly recommend it
It's also called one pot mexican rice sometimes. which maybe is more appealling lol
They don't do those in my Aldi, even online
