Best news I've heard all day, JJB.
Today's Big Jobbie was cutting down a plum tree and a Sweet Chestnut. Neither of them are productive and they were so tall that they shaded the dwarf fruit trees, which was making them leggy.
The trees were chainsawed down but I have to clean up the branches and sort them into log thickness or shredding thickness. Need to do it soon as they're blocking the path and some are on top of useful plants - like rosemary and elephant garlic (Imagine a flattened elephant - its nothing like that ).
I have a few more "trees" in line for the chop - some suckering plums, hazels and young ash. Maybe later this week once I've cleared this lot of debris.
