So we’d planned on cladding our house with Siberian larch ( it’s better than ours because it grows slower ). For obvious reasons that’s not happening now. So plan B is Scottish larch. That’s not going to happen because the price has sky rocketed as the Siberian stuff is no longer available ( wouldn’t have it even if it was available now ). Plan C is in motion but there’s still a few ifs & buts to sort out. So we’re hoping to buy local larch from our village ( discussion are in progress). We’re now the owners of a wood mill IF 1. If we get a yes to the local larch buying. 2. If all parts of the mill are with it and in a working or fixable state (not so rusty it’s falling apart or been run over by a tractor). If we have a yes to both of those points we own a wood mill .
Fingers crossed for a couple of days please everyone.
I’m very very excited about the possibility of using wood from the village to clad our house. That’ll be a very low build miles . Quite excited about having a mill as well, if I’m honest.
