Home Bargains might be getting their peat free in soon then, if anyone wants to check. Last year it was the Growmoor brand and didn't seem to contain any green waste.

Visited Home Bargains today, the price has gone up to £4.99 for 50 L, same brand. Sadly, as usual the peat based composts were cheaper. We got a few bags of Aldi's peat free to give it a go, £3.2something for 40 L. Only bought it because some of the bags were split so I could have a look and feel of it. Seems to be a mixture of composted bark, green waste compost and shredded wood, much better than that pitch black sludge from a few years ago. Some bits of plastic as is guaranteed with anything that contains green waste these days.
