They don’t need lifting yet. Also I know exactly where they are so summer lifting is perfect. They’ll probably be going into pots anyway as there’s a fairly high chance the garden won’t be ready for them to go straight in.
As you say, the best time to lift them up is in early summer when the foliage is dying off but you can still find them.
