Those memories are sad at the moment Vinny, whilst they're still raw. In time I hope they'll become poignant. I have mum's and gran's written recipe books which evoke all sorts of fond memories and impressions. Mostly about how unexciting their cuisine was. I remember mum being very proud of a spag bol when we were kids and we all thinking how exotic it was. Mind you in those days we thought a Vesta curry was exotic. To be fair mum had spent a long time in the Far East so we were used to chinese/Singaporean dishes and proper curries.
Gardening is an excuse not to do housework
