It will soon be potato and tomato planting season so why not combine the two in a single pot?
Plant a spud in the bottom of a MFB on 5cm of potting compost. Fill the pot up with compost and plant a tomato plant in the top. Harvest the toms throughout the season and at the end of the season tip the pot out and harvest the potatoes. Probably best with a late low growing maincrop spud methinks with a high phosphate fertiliser like bone meal added to compost.
