It's years since I grew tomatoes successfully (I don't count last year, as it was all last-minute with little choice of variety), so I'm still experimenting. If I had to choose just one, it would probably have to be a really tasty cherry tomato - I've heard good things about Black Cherry, which I am growing this year, but I guess we'll see...
I also have high hopes for Costoluto di Parma, as I do like a good slicing tomato for salads and sandwiches. And San Marzano is a must-have for canning/freezing.
