You're welcome! I discovered the word a few years ago - it's very helpful for describing the kind of snow we tend to get here in East Anglia. I'm not sure that what we get is true graupel, as it's not as big as hail and not associated with either thunderstorms or high altitudes, but I find it a handy word to refer to the tiny spherical snow particles that don't look at all like classic snowflakes.
