I have been here 20 years Jay....and this is the best it's ever looked, obviously as I've had more time due to the lockdown, needing the headspace so being outdoors has been very good but the weather has never been as good as this. Everything has looked amazing early on.
Now everything is very dry and we really need some rain.
I've had to reduce my veg areas and I no longer keep chickens so this has helped me to concentrate on other areas - I also don't do daily trips to and from bath getting stuck in traffic etc which has made a huge difference not only on time but energy. Sitting in a car for hours is exhausting.
I'm not growing much veg, just runner and french beans, chard and kale. Lettuce, toms, chilliest and cues. Herbs etc. So that's helped too.
I've decide that if I grow flowers for gifts and in the house that is as much a saving as growing carrots? I can happily eat just beans and salad for the next few months and it got that my back wasn't good enough to dig spuds up etc. So this is working for me.
Just a few more....then my 20mins is up!!
This is the wildlife/native hedge I put in 18months ago. It has lots of dog roses for some colour and they are just starting to open. I will give it a trim soon but I don't want a straight square hedge.
Also my fruit trees that we put in last Autumn. Keeping up with the watering is hard but even at this size they look lovely - to me anyway!
