Wild/Perennial/Babington leeks

I have never grown the perennial leeks. I would wonder whether perennial leeks are susceptible to white rot? I have the same feelings about perennial brassicas being susceptible to clubroot?

Having said that, leek growers in my area grow leeks in the same trench every year, albeit the soil is thrown out and beefed up each year.

I might give them a try just to add another string to my bow.
