Over the years when my kids were small we had a tradition of going in to Dublin City on Christmas Eve for a walk around looking at all the lights and certain large department stores window displays. We would also do a final visit to Santa before heading somewhere for tea, which later became McDonalds when they arrived in Ireland. We tried this with our first grandson one year, he’s now 15 but felt it better that he and later his brother should create their own traditions with their parents. We started a new one with the grand children to visit Santa and have a sleepover the week before Christmas.
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.
