Lamb's Lettuce - known by several other names including Corn Salad, Mache, Rapunzel, Valerianella locusta.
Its one of those seeds that I acquire because they sound interesting but never get around to sowing.
Its time to sow it apparently and its quick to mature.
Anyone grown it? Is it worth giving GH space to?

I find a cold frame better it tends to get botrytis in a green house. It only needs protection in the worst weather.

It’s not a lettuce I’ve grown but it is used a lot in salad bags and is a nice filler with other stronger leaves.

You’ll have enough to sell it from the door V.

I love it! I have grown it many times and find that they're really tough little plants. I often pinch them off quite a few times before they get fed up with it.
I don't seem to ever get them to look like they do in a bag of salad from the supermarket, but they have lovely fleshy leaves and are filling compared to many other salads. They have often lasted through the winter for me too, unprotected outside

Do you recommend it? Yes kept us going during the lockdown before the lettuce were ready. Mild flavor but can be spiced up with a good dressing. Loads of it eaten here.

I grow lambs Lettuce every year but I’m getting fed up with cleaning it. If grown in the ground it accumulates loads of mud. I am sure that when grown commercially they use hydroponics. Not wanting to go down that road has anyone any suggestions as to how to keep it a bit cleaner.
Thanks
