Potted up 5 Beth Alpha cucumber seedlings.
Planted lots of rooted Bijou peas in modules.
Planted Vermont Cranberry DFB seedlings in 2 pots outside.
Sowed DFBs in modules.
Sieved another tub of old compost, lined the base with wool insulation and refilled the tub ready for planting. I have 9 tubs patiently waiting to host a tomato.

Today I had the opportunity to visit the private garden at Duart castle.

. The castle is open to the public. Bob had to go to service the mowers & strimmers. I tagged along as we know the gardener and he was actually working this morning. He’s only part time. It was a lovely walled garden that someone took a lot of pride in, in the past. Our friend is staying to get it back into a cared for space. It’s split into 4 sections a formal rose garden, a fruit garden with a big flower bed running down the far edge, a vegetable garden with 6 lovely raised beds most of which have had the timber replaced, still a couple to do, finally the green house & polytunnel. After the tour and being handed a bucket full of plants he dug up for me. I helped take down the old fruit cage and did a bit of weeding.
This afternoon was potting up my newly acquired plants. Watered the tunnel, finished putting the rocks around the edge of the bed.
Dug out the french tarragon and put it in a big pot. I’ll have to dig out several plants in the autumn to get the rest of its roots out.
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

That is truly a fine day out, with a doggie bag of plants as well. Not bad!

Potted on some tomatoes, those in 2" pots soon outgrow their little homes. Started the gh shuffle dance. Covered strawberry flowers overnight against the cold.

Potted up some courgette seedlings. There didn't seem to be much happening by way of germination so I emptied the remaining modules and inspected the seeds for signs of life. There were a few so I potted them up too.
Sowed some tomatillo seeds.
Did some weeding - the weed of the day was Wood Avens although some other weeds found their way into the bin too.
