Don't you believe in ghosts?
Probably, but I'm going to be too busy haunting anyone left behind and causing chaos just for the fun of it to worry about trees  Big Grin

Seems there'll be another Gardening magazine on sale soon! "Homegrown Kitchen". https://www.magazine.co.uk/magazines/hom...n-magazine
It launches this month and will be on sale at supermarkets etc. I'll have a look for it next time I'm in Morries and see if there are any free seeds worth having. At nearly £7 a copy they would have to be really good!
On the other hand, I could buy £7 worth of seeds at Lidl and have 35 packets of their basic ones or 15 large packets and 5 basic ones for the same £7.

The thing is, if you buy the mag, are you going to learn anything you didn't already know? Smile I bought a mag last year for the seeds only, and not wanting to sound like a know it all, after 50 years of gardening, their was very little to learn from a mag? (I just browsed it because it was mostly aimed at new gardeners)
Having said that, it would be interesting to see if formats have changed any and whether their was any bias to different methods of growing?

Being a tight git, I would probably opt for the seeds though, so I could pick & choose what varieties I wanted to grow?

That’s exactly the sort of magazine I’d be interested in. For the recipes probably more than the gardening advice. I’m always after inspiration for best use of the veg I’ve grown. I’d never subscribe. But I’d buy it on occasion definitely. I’m off to have a look if I can get magazines on my Morrisons order.

I've stopped buying magazines unless they have lots of free seeds. Instead I buy second hand books on a specific topic, rather than a hotchpotch of, often shallow, articles. My favourite site is Awesome Books and most of my books cost about £3-4 - so two books for the cost of a magazine. Free P&P too.

That’s an even better idea.

I bought quite a few of Geoff Hamiltons books (which are classics now) and some of Bob Flowerdews along with  The Victorian Kitchen Garden as well from Awsome Books, quite cheaply! Cool
