Sowing onions on Boxing Day

Traditionally Onion seeds are sown on Boxing Day.   Does anyone here actually do that?
If so, do you sow then because its a good day for sowing - or because it gets you out of the house and the clearing up after yesterday?         Or any other reason?

Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.

I used to, when I favoured the Mammoth and Kelsae big onions? Now I just stick with normal sized onion sets planted in spring and autumn. Smile
