Yes, I'm not excited about the Winter Fuel payment as I expect it to be clawed back in tax next year. They give with one hand and take away with the other.

I had two letters together. One infoming me I would get a £200 fuel paymnt into my bank account some time soon (not happened yet though) The other letter informed me I owed roughly the same amount in tax! Rolleyes

In today, a 'tumbler' compost bin and the chance of some new glass for my geenhouse from my allotment neihbours who are giving up their plot! I was offered the greenhouse but asked if I could have a few panes fom it to finish mine off instead?. From what I can see, I need three panes fo the door, two for the roof and one for the side. Cool

Just picked up a Too Good to Waste box from Aldi. £3.30.
Cauliflowers x 2, Sweetheart cabbage x2, parsnips, large tomatoes, watermelon slices, big bag of bread rolls, small wholemeal loaf, packet of cheese & ham wraps and a bag of mixed salad leaves that are only fit for the compost bin.
All the other veg are in good condition. Worked out that it would have cost about £11.

Yesterday, had a TGTW breakfast from a Toby Carvery. It came in a huge tub . Lots of bacon, a sausage, mushrooms, a potato, bacon and onion fry up, tomatoes and some potato cake things. It wasn't for me because of the meat but it was enough for 3 meals and Ted enjoyed all the potatoes!

An expensive day! I've just spent £20, though not all of it was for me and not all of it was food. In fact, MY food was £5. Big Grin
I've been to the £5 Pantry, first time for a while. They had enormous lumps of slow roast beef (Tesco price £17 with club card) - which the Pantry were selling for £5!
Another £5 bought 2 packs of toilet rolls, Astonish kitchen cleaner, and 2 packs of Dove soap. I didn't really need any of these but my purchase helps to subsidise the rest.
The other £10 bought - 2 bags of KFC, a veggie pie, yogurts, kefir drinks, 6 eggs, Bonne Maman Peach conserve, tinned sweetcorn, carrots & peas, fresh veg - potatoes, courgettes, sprouts, tomatoes, lettuce, spring onions, basil, tangerines, bananas, blackberries (grown in neighbouring South Glamorgan!), orange juice, pop, crisps, bread & rolls and fruit scones.............and a Coconut!!.
Happy with that lot!
