I’ve ordered myself a charity calendar. Free the bears fund. I’ve been meaning to get myself one for year . Finally done it. I brought the bears a jar of honey as well.

Bought  a healthy looking fig plant fom Morries for £2. Not sure what to do with it and whether it will survive outdoors? Pobably put it in a bigge pot and put in greenhouse, even though half the glass is missing? No idea how frost hardy they are?

Very... but ideally plant in a large pot and then into the ground. They say restricting roots gives more fruit. I didnt pot mine, its been in the garden for over 10 years - ive had some fruit of it but not much

I have a fig hedge! I thought I'd restricted the roots by planting it between 2 retaining walls but it spread sideways instead! Its been there at least 15 years, untroubled by frosts/snow etc. It used to fruit but I keep it cut down and back as it was taking over. It doesn't smell very nice either. .........and I grew it from cuttings. That'll teach me!!

Its a bit "catty" when the leaves are wet. Mine's alongside the drive, just where I park the car, I wouldn't plant one there again!

Booked an appointment with the optician. Probably due for one as it’s over a decade since I last went.

Mushroom picking is new for this year, and I can safely say I'm hooked! We're having a great year for King Bolete/porcini here and I've brought home loads. I'm really enjoying learning new mushroom types, researching and taste testing. And lots new recipes to try out! Just a shame that Jay doesn't like mushrooms lol
