Went to IOW for the day yesterday. Trust me to choose the only cloudy day in all the week! It was warm nicely enough to go for a walk and sit by the sea. No gardening though and no new cuttings.

Moved motorhome to allow for a log delivery! Whilst waiting for delivery decided to hand weed the frontal area of the house!

Large pile of logs on drive now waiting to be wheelbarrowed and stacked at rear of house. Overcast and quite cold today (jumper on) so just trying to motivate myself to get cracking and get the logs stacked. I already have quite a few logs stacked but it's easier to get seasoned logs at this time of year as when the main rush time comes for people wanting logs you have to accept part-seasoned? This load is nice and dry and ready to burn! Cool (once I get my finger out and get them satacked of course!) Blush

Weeded a raspberry clump, mainly of brambles. Soil there is bone dry so gave it 2 watering cans. Watered polytunnel and the climbing beans as their leaves drooping a bit.

Cut dead leaves off GH plants, mostly tomatoes. Did some brushing of sand into the paviours in the drive. This sidetracked me into the garage that I rarely visit and finding all sorts of "treasures" - otherwise known as junk. I've offered some up on the local freebie group, in the hope that someone can use them.
In case you're interested, there are 7 framed prints, an exercise ball, swimming fins, 2 facemasks and snorkels, a ?60s mirror with a black and white spotted surround and a bag of wooden legs for about six sofas!
Also found but not yet offered a 1953 coronation commemorative tin issued by WD & HO Wills "Wild Woodbines". Not sure Her Majesty would have approved of her image appearing on the top of a tin of fags. Big Grin

Weeding. A much neglected past time of late. The frutcage was almost a lawn of weeds. Unfortunately the soil was rock hard and in some cases I couldn't get a fork into it. I plan to revamp the fruit cage when we have some rain to loosen the soil. Out will come the summer raspberries, which must be well past their sell by date and I intend to replace them with a couple of varieties of autumn ones. The Joan J I have are so much nicer and less susceptible to aphid attack.

Picked bunch of flowers for the barrow. Gave barrow a little shuffle around so flowers are more noticeable. Collected seeds. Did some dead heading and started a bit of a tidy up of plants after the storm last week. Planted out the last few plants that haven’t sold in the barrow.
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

De brambling, nettling and montbretia removal so that I can reach a pear tree which has been surrounded by unwanted plants. Its been so hot that I only did the shady side today. The sunny side will have to wait a little longer.
