They're forming bulbils in the flowerheads now. Each of these bulbils will grow another leek - but it takes a couple of years to grow large enough to grow its own bulbils. Once they're established they keep growing back every year.
Don't ask me what they taste like as I don't eat them - I grow them because I like having them in the garden; they're the county flower of Cardiff, they grow wild only in a few places around the coast of the UK- and because they're unusual. The bees love the flowers, as they do every allium head.

Depending on how many I manage to save, and how many people are in the Seed Swap, I'm hoping to share some amongst us.
They'll just be the bulbils though - don't know whether you're talking about those or the plants, Danny?

Yes it was the bulbils however I was looking at getting quite a few and will not be partaking in the seed swaps as I'm not organised enough to have anything to offer
That said if you do have any left after swaps etc I’d gratefully accept, I’m sure there will be something I can muster to return the kind offer
I'm surprised you've not tried eating one to see what they are like?

They taste like leeks and I have plenty of those so no reason to terminate one of the wild ones. They also produce side-leeks at the base as they age.

What you like leeks with a hint of garlic?, I prefer butter myself and a little chopped parsley.
