Did you buy a plinth with your hotbin Veggie? I’m trying to work out if I need one or if sitting in on a pallet would raise it enough to collect the liquid.

I didn't buy a plinth. According to #27
"Its in the corner of the GH at the mo but I need to find a few more bricks to raise it off the ground so that I can catch any liquid. I've cut the front/top off the box and left the bin inside it as an extra layer of insulation!"
I've tried looking under the Hotbin but can't see what its on - but I can feel a piece of wood a couple of inches back from the front (if that makes sense!
Photo soon.

This is how I catch the liquid - two plastic supermarket trays. (Two trays to rigidity). They fit perfectly under the Hotbin. I pour from these into a container (funnel needed).

Thank you. That all makes perfect sense. Think I’ll go with plan A. Not have a plinth.

Don't make the base too high as shorties, like me, can just about reach into the bin to stir it.
Leave plenty of room in front of it, for emptying. I put a plastic sheet down, with a big plant/gravel tray on top. Rake the compost out onto the tray and shovel it into buckets. When some compost has been removed, the upper layers drop down to fill the space which makes emptying the compost at the back of the bin "interesting". I've never emptied it completely.

Was just planning on putting it on a pallet. Hopefully that won’t be too high for me to fill it and stir it. But high enough to collect liquid from the bottom
