Too wet to do anything meaningful outside. I planted some Burpless Tasty Green cucumbers in 2 pots in GH2.
Picked some Perennial kale and turned some into cuttings in a jam jar on the kitchen windowsill. The leaves became seaweed!

Did a bit more on the Meccano, sorry, metal shed build. After using coach bolts to fasten the 4X4's together to set the shed on ,I am in a position to start building it. This is as far as I got this evening after shopping and dog walking.
Hopefully, weather permitting I, should be able to just about finish the build tomorrow! Cool

Another day building the shed from hell.

I thought I might get it finished, having been working on it all day but it wasn't to be!

I managed to get all the sides on so hopefully get the roof and doors done tomorrow?

A bit more work on the shed today with the roof stays now in place and about half the cladding on it. I was defeated by the wind and the rain in the end! Angry

I've had a blazing hot day here today, and it got even muggier when it clouded over for an hour or so. I thought I would pass out!

I decided that what had to take top priority today was to dig the flower bed on the left of the porch, as the flowers that I bought last week were suffering in the buckets where I had temporarily planted them.

It was the Dense blazing star and the geranium that looks very much like 'Johnson's Blue' that suffered the most. I want the bed to be as deep as the porch, and up to the corner of the house. It has grass at the moment, in places very patchy, along with a rhubarb, mock orange and a massive hosta.

I tried to get the hosta moved, but there's absolutely no way I could shift that at the moment - that will have to wait until it has died down in the autumn. I've dug over about a third, and pulled out all the grass roots that I could find. The soil is very dry near the house, and very sandy all over. It will need a lot of organic material, I think. I planted up the suffering plants and had to call it a day. It's just too warm, and I was getting very dehydrated despite constantly drinking water.

My other flowers will have to wait nicely in their pots for their turn.
