2025 - What I did today

Went to the plot for some weeding and watering. Planted out a few flower seedlings. Potted on dinner courgettes at home. Left a bunch of stuff outside the bkowaway tonight. Fingers crossed the forecast is accurate.

Started the greenhouse shuffle. Put up the pasting table 'staging' in gh2. Potted on more toms & squash. Tried to keep track of the plants I've got for others and those I want to keep. Decided on using a colour coded label system to quickly identify each pot.

Potted on Kales, cabbages and chard, my broccoli's bolted so I'll sow more tomorrow.

Pricked out lobelia, found some sprouting dahlias saved from last year so bunged them in some pots temporarily. Potted on trombas and cucumbers. I have yet to return to the garden after dinner to put or find places for everything I put out in the sun. I may have filled their alloted spaces in the gh. Although met office say a warm night, I don't trust them.

After a marathon cleaning session (5 houses). I repotted Christmas cactus who really isn’t happy after a winter in the polytunnel. Then planted out some more flowers in the cut flower bed. Weeded as I went. Wanted to do some potting on, but song thrush has turned my pot store into a crèches so didn’t want to disturb them.

Cleaned out the GH gutters in case there's rain in the next couple of days.
Otherwise, just pottering.

Put out bamboo canes and planted the tomatoes. Tied them in.
Potted on some cosmos.
Sowed climbing beans in root trainers.
Pinched out lemon verbena and fruity sages.

Cleaned the bird crap off the motorhome and cleared the front winscreen of dead bugs that the windscreen wipers wouldn't shift whilst parked up for the night

Mowed some grass as it was almost impossible to find the clothes line in the long grass.
Cut down lots of cow parsley and put it in the garden waste bin. Its spreading like crazy.
Sowed lots of old cucumber & gherkin seeds. I've no idea what I'll do with them if they all germinate.
Stood in the rain and tried to get wet - not even slightly damp.

Went to the plot with the whole crew. Put down some more wood chip on the paths. Weeded and watered. Had lots of help from little ones that was actually helpful. Went to a science show at the theatre with my oldest.
