My something new this week is really exciting, depending on your description of exciting. Pin back your lugholes for the story.
Some time ago we bought a smart TV for the bedroom, specifically to listen to a particulaar digital channel. This channel has subsequently stopped transmitting but that's another story. Anyway this TV supposedly can connect to a web browser although until this mornig we'd never tried it. This morning we wanted to view a funeral of one of our friends online We successfully did that but it was tedious using the TV remote to navigate and type web addresses etc. now some months ago P aquired several bluetooth keyboards, I've no idea how but he ended up with four. My task was to see if the smart TV could be conected t the bluetooth keyboard, thereby obviating the need to use the TV remote. I'm happy to say, nay, downright chuffed to say, that I'm typing this on the bt keyboard using the TV as my screen. Next step is to source a bluetooth mouse as I still have to use the remote to navigate the page. Apogies for any typos as the TV is some distance away.

That’s a brilliant idea. Using the tv remote to search for anything is infuriating.

I'm told that we have a HP wireless bluetooth mouse that doesn't require a dongle. It came from Argos and was about £14. I don't understand any of this, I just watch the TV!.
Its this one https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9593958?...=plp:18:93
Apparently, he wanted the mouse and keyboard combination but it was out of stock. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/4743624?...=plp:17:93

Thanks for that V. P has already ordered one from ebay, it should arrive in a couple of days. No doubt he'll want me to figure out how to connect it.

I can't say "dongle" without smirking. ...........Don't let your dongle dangle in the dust - type of smirk.

The reason why I use the dongle and mouse is because I haven't worked out how to 'right click' on my chromebook (and can't be arsed to!) so it's easier to 'drag and drop' using a mouse!

I grew mashed potato squash this year. My new thing is roasting this and scooping out the insides to get a mock mash.
