(apologies for pic in advance)
I'm inundated
The supposed climbing courgette, Black Forest, seems to prefer crawling to climbing but the courgettes are just the right shape for spiralising, straight and true rather than curved.

I've forgotten why you sprayed the plants in the first place? Was it powdery mildew - and if so, has it gone?

In a word no! Probably because I washed it all off in distress. Dare I try again, maybe, but definitely using a different sprayer.

Just cut off the oldest, worst leaves - play safe. You're not to be trusted with a sprayer!!

You're right there, I'll add it to the long list of things Jen shouldn't attempt to try.

Update. I think my optimism has flown out through the window. New growth is wierd on many plants with flowers not opening on fruit at all, so they don't get pollinated. I've got 2 plants that are OK and some in the wings about 3" tall plus 3 trombas so I won't be squashless. The pumpkin is a washout.
